Think of a real machine inside a classroom. It has the anatomy of a robot -- mechanical hands, feet, and head. The only thing that's "a bit" human about his teacher is its head. The head is actually a screen similar to a desktop monitor, and it shows the image of a human teacher.
If you think about it, the robot is just an online English teacher.
As a robot teacher, this machine has the ability to move. The teacher (shown on the screen) has access to a program that allows the robot to move vertically or horizontally. The only limitation is that the pacing is very slow and that the movements are confined to only sideways, backward, and front.
In South Korea, robot teachers are now used in the classroom. The lessons are supplemental, and they are used to give students an opportunity to apply what they've learned with their classroom English teacher.

Although research has yet to be done on the effectiveness of the robot teacher, it's a great tool to keep children interested.
