How Teachers Can Make Extra Money Online

Are you a teacher and don't feel like you're compensated enough? But you love your job so much you're not thinking of changing careers anytime soon?

How about making side money online? Thanks to the Internet, you can turn those extra hours into something profitable. All you need is your skills -- and time and the Internet, of course!

Consider the following money-making activities online.

1. If you have excellent writing skills...

- Be a freelance writer. Article writing is a big business online. That's because website owners are always updating their website with quality content. You can write about almost any topic, from chocolates up to product reviews. Most webmasters require 500 words, but they can go up or down (e.g., 300, 400, or even 1,000 words). To get started, I suggest joining high-paying sites such as iWriter.

- Be an affiliate marketer. You can get paid for every successful sale of a product you promote. This can be a very profitable income but you'll need some foundation on the following: website creation (whether free or self-hosted), HTML codes, and research.

- Be a self-published author. You can sell what you know or publish a novel you made on Amazon.

- Be a blogger. You can be a ghostblogger or you can be a blogger of your own site. If you choose the latter, understand that earning from this activity can take time.

2. If you teach English or Math...

You can offer your tutorial services. There is a high demand for online English classes, especially in countries such as South Korea, Japan, and China.

How does this work?

Design a syllabus, find students, agree on a price, and start teaching via Skype. At first, it can feel "different." But eventually, you'll get the hang of it and have fun.

3. If you are an Arts teacher who can create beautiful works of art...

You can sell these masterpieces. Whether they're clothes or handmade jewelry, you can always find a market online.

4. If you have other special skills and talent...

There's a site called Fiverr, which allows you to create gigs, or things that you're willing to do for $5.

Here's how it works.

If you have a good voice, for instance, you may want to do a recording for a client. In return, you will receive $5. If you love to "cartoonize" people, you can offer this as a gig.

5. If you have excellent typing skills...

Join an online job marketplace such as oDesk, eLance, and Freelancer.com. In these sites, clients post their job advertisements. Choose which of these ads you prefer, and apply. If you get chosen, the job is yours.

ABOUT THE PAYMENT:
For the methods I mentioned above, you'll get paid via Paypal in most of them. For affiliate marketing, though, you can get paid via checks.
